But not as a shop assistant, he is recording a song for their Christmas advert.
Here is the video!
James Arthur may have beaten fellow X Factor star Jahmene Douglas to take the talent show crown, but the lads are closer than ever and have plans to work with each other in the future.
Throughout the series, they have had nothing but praise for one another and now James wants to ensure he is the first to collaborate with talented soul singer Jahmene, who was runner-up in the competition.
In an interview with stv.tv, the 24-year-old said: “Jahmene better do a collaboration with me otherwise I’ll be bugging him. I’ll be the first in line to work with him.”
He added: “Jahmene – he’s just an inspirational character and I love the guy. He’s all about the love.”
James is also keen to work with another popular X Factor act – One Direction.
He became friends with the boys when they performed on the show, with Louis Tomlinson, in particular, backing his bid for X Factor glory.
James said he had been out for a few beers with Louis and admitted he has penned a couple of tracks he thinks would be perfect for the boy band.
He also praised 1D’s level-headedness, saying: “It’s funny cause they’re the biggest band in the world and I’ve never met a bunch of more down-to-earth lads.”
For now, James is taking things one step at a time, as he gets used to the idea of being an X Factor winner. He is currently promoting his debut single, Impossible, and has a few gigs planned for the festive period.
Then he’s looking forward to taking some time out and spending Christmas with his family, before throwing himself into what is sure to be a packed and exciting 2013. Congratulations, James!
Here is Jahmene Douglas’ Runner-Up Interview. What a true Gentleman!
Jahmene is The X Factor’s supermarket singing sensation. Jahmene the supermarket worker from Swindon wowed the Judges at his first audition in London with his rendition of Etta James, At Last. At Bootcamp, Jahmene’s first performance didn’t go too well and ahead of his final performance he complained of feeling faint and dizzy but after a pep talk from Nicole and Louis he took to the stage and blew the Judges and the audience away once more with his version of “Will You Love Me Tomorrow” by The Shirelles.
At Judges Houses in Dubai, Jahmene pulled off the performance of a lifetime singing “Titanium” by David Guetta to make it into Nicole’s three acts going through to the Live Shows. Jahmene is a self-confessed lover of soul and gospel music, regularly singing with the gospel choir at his local church and he is a big fan of the late Whitney Houston. Jahmene lives at home with mum, step-dad, two brothers and sister. He says he wants to ‘make his Mum proud’ by performing on The X Factor.
Jahmene finished in second place on the X Factor 2012. Jahmene says: “I’m not confident at all with any aspect of myself but singing is my way of expressing myself because talking is not my strong point at all”. Despite this he is expected to have a great career in the Music Industry.
It is only the beginning for Jahmene Douglas as he is on track to be a music superstar. The former Asda worker has no fear he will be going back to stacking shelves with talks that the 22-year-old is set to start a career in America. Jahmene, who was shy and nervous when he first stepped out at the auditions for the X Factor, has grown through the competition and is already talking of releasing his first album.
After coming back down to earth yesterday, Jahmene is now setting his sights on inspiring others. He said: “The weekend was a blessing. It was just amazing to sing in front of 10,000 people and to go on stage with Nicole was amazing. “I think the percentages on the night were so close it was just one of those things. I still won just making it through to the final two.
“What’s next? Obviously there’s going to be an album, I’ve just got to find the right people to work with. “I want it to be something serious and an inspiration for others.”
Louis Walsh has predicted it many, many times: Jahmene Douglas won’t be returning to his job in the supermarket anytime soon.
The 22-year-old singer from Swindon sailed through to the X Factor final and consistently wowed viewer and the judges with his strong vocal performances.
Despite a stunning performance of his winner’s single, Let It Be, Jahmene failed claim the victory, but sources say this won’t be the end for the humble singer.
Simon Cowell is said to be so impressed with Jahmene’s falsetto vocals and hard work on the show, he is planning to give him a recording contract regardless.
Louis Walsh revealed last week that he has been talking to the music mogul and he said he has ‘big plans’ for both winner James Arthur and Jahmene.
And if the success of former X Factor runner-ups are anything to go by, this won’t be the last we see of the talented singer from Swindon.
What do you think? Should Jahmene sign up with Simon or find his own way? Please Comment
